After meeting with our SS this week, we have all determined that the stairs have either been incorrectly ordered or incorrectly built. Now we are waiting on Boutique to determining which is the case and get the stairs re-ordered. Hopefully this doesn't cause too much of a delay.
Over the next 2 weeks the painters will be on site. They have already put a first coat of stain on the timber. It is looking great!

Week 29 - Kitchen, Bathrooms, Doors and Stairs
What a week of exciting highs and lows. Whilst it was so exciting to get stairs installed in the house, our old supervisor ordered the wrong stairs.... We've e-mailed our SS, but he is away on holidays this week, I'm sure he'll call first thing on Monday! What a mistake!
The fixing carpenters were also onsite this week, installing all the skirting and internal doors. The cabinet makers installed all the bathrooms, laundry and kitchen cabinetry. On top of this the plumbers were in for the waterproofing. A very busy week, hopefully the progress continues.

Week 27 and 28
Over the last couple weeks the building works have progressed. The plasters have finished their preliminary works, and the 'fixing' carpenters have been on site for a week installing doors, door frames, skirting, and getting the house ready for the stairs.
The stairs, waterproofing and kitchen are set to be started this next week! Here are some of the progress photos:

Week 26
The plaster work continues this week with additional coats on the joins and the cornices have been put on. It really is starting to feel like a house!

Week 25
This week, we met with our new SS on the site and went through the internal corrections that had been identified over the last few months.
We are really happy with his pro-active approach and his understanding of our job within 2 weeks of taking over our site. After the meeting, we were happy with all the fixes and our SS said plaster was ready to start on Monday.
To our surprise, a crew of eight plasterers started on Sunday and amazingly had the whole house plastered within a day! Whilst this is only the first day of plaster, it should only take another day or two to get the house ready for cornices and skirting.
Here are some of the preliminary works pictures.
Also, comically, one of our neighbours complained about our site debris to the council and our site has now been cleaned!
The excitement in now mounting!

Week 24 - A change of Supervision
We met with our new supervisor this week. During the meeting, we went through our list of defects to date and any concerns that we have had.
We were very happy that our new supervisor took notes and discussed the 'game plan' to bring our build back on track.
Realistically, we are looking at about 10 more weeks for the build. Sigh.... but around our original expectations.

Week 23
This week, our garage roof was installed, the cedar capping on our balcony has been installed, gutters, and the first coat of render on the ground floor has been put on.
Looking ahead, this week we meet with the regional building manager and discuss the progress to date and how they are progressing.
